Getting Started
Every journey through Tech Assistant begins here. This opening chapter is your orientation: the handful of screens and gestures you'll return to daily, long after the rest of the app has become second nature. Nothing about it assumes you can see the layout, and nothing about it rushes you past a step just because a sighted designer thought it was obvious.
You'll start at the Welcome screen, where signing in and creating an account sit side by side as clearly labeled buttons, alongside a browser-based sign-in and a direct line to human help if anything goes sideways before you're even logged in. From there, registration is a short, honestly-worded form: your name, your email, a password with a spoken show-or-hide toggle, and a plain acknowledgement of the Terms and Privacy Policy, both readable in-app without ever leaving the sign-up screen.
Once you're in, the Home screen becomes your daily anchor. It greets you by name and time of day, reads out the weather without demanding you decode a chart, and surfaces a search box that can locate any of the app's ninety-plus tools by typing just a few letters. Below that, a scrollable list of shortcuts puts your tools in an order you control, not one Tech Assistant decided for you.
Five tabs anchor the bottom of every screen you'll ever open: Home, a Quick Launch tab you personalize, News, Articles, and More. The Quick Launch tab deserves special attention because it's the app's signature idea — a single, instant doorway to whichever tool or tools matter most to your day, configured once and then simply trusted.
By the end of this chapter, you'll be able to sign in without hesitation, find your bearings on Home purely by ear, reorder your shortcuts to match how you actually work, and jump into any of the app's tools in two taps or fewer. Take it slowly the first time; every gesture described here has been built and checked with a screen reader running.
